FilmJerk is reporting that Joe Pesci has accepted a small role from goombah Robert De Niro in his upcoming film The Good Shepherd. Contrary to rumors that I'll start right now, the Oscar-winning actor was not whacked back in 1998 following his performance in Lethal Weapon 4. In fact, he just sort of fell off the face of the earth - until now. Shepherd is said to be based on the life of legendary CIA spymaster James Jesus Angleton (known as James Wilson in the film) as played by Matt Damon. Wait, who has Jesus as a middle name? Anyway, Pesci will take on a familiar role and play a crime boss; one of Wilson's many enemies in the pic. Due out in December of 2006, the cast alone has me foaming at the mouth. We're talking William Hurt, Alec Baldin, John Turturro, Billy Crudup, Timothy Hutton and De Niro himself to name a few. Maybe I should see if I can dig my flux capacitor out of the trash and attempt to speed things up a bit. Whaddya think?
